Mark Twain, said: “ The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why”. I went through life aimlessly, without much purpose, just a wandering soul, among many, till Jesus came into my life.
From an atheist to a follower of Christ, from a life of darkness into light, from single to married all within six years. I still remember the first day Esther, my better half, brought me to Hope Center, and embarked on a journey of learning at Faith Bible Seminary.
Today, this Diploma that I hold in my hands, is the pouring of much love for the Word of the Lord, that many deserves to hold it together with me. I would like to thank all the teachers of Faith Bible Seminary, for their faithful preparations and teachings throughout each semester, striving even in the toughest months that we just encountered. I am so grateful for all the teachers, who have to go the extra mile that enabled me to take tests and write my papers in English.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Faith Bible Church for giving me an opportunity to serve at the Main Church English Ministry. Especially to Minister Rosie, for her prayers, guidance and being a mentor to me, and giving precious advice for the sermons that I have to preach on Sunday’s even though she has so much on her hands. She showed me a very important lesson, no matter how busy we are, we as a church, are always here for the family, of brothers and sisters.
Esther, my wife deserves to hold this Diploma more than me, for she sacrifices more than I ever could ask for. She put herself in the role of a loving and caring wife, a supportive role both financially and also taking care of our two elderly mothers, physically both in Malaysia and China. In the beginning, we sometimes argue, mostly because my old self struggles with, “pride” and my “ego” that says, a “man” should work and feed the family. She had this amazing way to make me realize the folly of my thoughts - “ she said that no matter how much I earn and bring home it will not be enough if your wife does not cooperate and spend your hard earned money on expensive handbags and vacations!”. ( her actual words!) I have learned to be content with what we have and being grateful. Today I want to thank my wife, Esther for staying with me through all these years, ever supportive even though at times I would behave more like a “spiritual child”, rather than being a husband and be the head of our household.
I wanted to thank God that through these years, He has opened up my heart to love Him, to crave for His word, and allow me to enjoy spending time with my fellow students in the company of so many wonderful teachers.
It is through this continuous seeking for the TRUTH, that I found the very purpose of our lives is to give Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that our marriage and lives can be a pleasing testimony to God and be His witnesses
serving him faithfully:
Quoting Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my household we will serve the Lord ”, - all of our living days.
Esther and I would like to thank you all for being here and share this joyous moment in our lives.
May God Bless us all.
